Vocab Skit for American Lit. #3

Vocab Skit #3: HALLOWEEN themed

Justin: In ‘n’ Out person (would you like some fries with that?)
Rachel W: Wizard person (abracadabra!)
Rachel D: House person and Narrator (whooooosh: that’s the wind)
Claire: Minion person (teehee)

Narrator: It was Halloween night, and there were tricker-treaters about. A particular group of three were INDIFFERENT towards what type of candy they got, because they liked all sorts of candy. They were travelling from house to house to AUGMENT their candy supply, when they walked up to an especially OBSCURE house. There was so much fog that they could barely DISCERN anything that was just five feet in front of them. They were rather DUBIOUS in whether or not they should approach the eerily dark house.
____________________________________________________________________________

Claire: Ding-Dong
All together: Trick or treat!!!
Rachel D: Hello!
Rachel W: Can you give us candy?
Rachel D: Why would I do that?
Claire: Because you’re a BENEVOLENT person. Besides, it’s INEVITABLE because it’s Halloween!
(a few minutes later, the kids still have no candy...)
Justin: Why aren’t you COMPLACENT to our request?!?!?!?!
Rachel D: I don’t have anything to give to you...
Claire: How about money? $) *Ka-ching a-ling, a-ling, a-ling!*
Rachel D: Don’t got none of that stuff either.
Rachel W: You aren’t being CANDID with us, are you?
Rachel D: I’m sorry, I don’t have cash with me at the moment, but I do have toothbrushes.
Justin: That’s strange...You are very AUSTERE! I’m not going to ACQUIESCE to you and your toothbrushes!
Rachel D: No, I’m not and you are being very pushy aren’t you? You kids need toothbrushes if you want to have clean and healthy teeth, especially after all the candy you’ll eat...
Rachel W: You live an INSIPID life and I’m not sorry for you.
Rachel D: Like you don’t and thank you.
Claire: Could we EXPEDITE this process of obtaining the candy? I wanna eaaatttt it noooowww.
Justin: I second that.
Rachel D: Well, you see I actually do have candy you DISDAINFUL, INDOLENT children. That was just all a test, you see.
Justin: So we can have our candy now?!?!
Rachel W: Don’t call us DEPRAVE because we aren’t!
Rachel D: Whatever helps you sleep at night. And when did I call you DEPRAVE? I just said DISDAINFUL and----.
Claire: Ya know what helps me sleep at night? A bowl full of candy!
Rachel D: And you know where you can get some? Well, the store for one. Okay, if you give me money, I will give you candy. Fair trade.
Justin: Your DEPRAVITY is ruining our Halloween! Today isn’t about buying candy from strangers, it’s about getting candy for free because of the goodness in people’s hearts.
Rachel D: Wait, now you are calling me DEPRAVE? Okay then, I see how it is. Here’s the candy that you so EXTOL.
Claire: MWAHAHAHAAA! That’s more like it you AMBIGUOUS human.
Rachel D: I will change my ways. Candy is good for you I see now. I already gave you kids candy...so, I’ll see you next year I guess!
Justin: Okie dokie.
Rachel W: I wouldn’t bet on it.
Claire: Candy is goooood! I love candy...whatever house it comes from! Don’t discriminate! Candy for all! Woot woot!

THE END! :D

Vocab Skit #2 for American Lit class :)

10/17/11

Vocab Skit #2:

Narrator: After school, Lucy walked to her friend’s house and “borrowed” the family’s car to drive illegally to a party which her parents had already told her to not go to. When she was driving home from the party at about 1:30 in the morning (ooh, that’s after curfew!), an INNOCUOUS slow driver was in her path. She tried to swerve out of the way to speed past, but proceeded to crash the car into a nearby tree.

When she finally arrived home, her parents were waiting there for her, having received a DISDAINFUL phone call from the police (aka. the coppers). They had a very AUSTERE lecture ready for her.
______________________________________________________________________________
Mom: “Where have you been, young lady?!
Lucy: “I was out chillin’ with my homies.”
Dad: “Which homies?”
Lucy: “Dad...you aren’t allowed to say ‘homies’. That’s just...weird.”
Dad: “Well you aren’t allowed to take a car and go party without my permission! You have not earned your AUTONOMY yet. While you live under this roof, you live by MY rules, punk!”
Lucy: “Dad! I won’t ACQUIESCE to your stupid rules.”
Dad: “You know when you cause trouble that we as parents become more and more APATHETIC! I can’t take your INDOLENCE any longer!”
Lucy: “You should be a better parent! I need more freedom here, because I’m so not down...I mean, approving of your dumb ‘rules’. Get it through your head.”
Mom: “Do not speak to your parents like that! We are good parents. We are trying our best to be BENEVOLENT with you, but it’s hard because all you want to do is be FLAGRANT.”
Lucy: “Well.. what punishment are you goin to give me? huh?”
Mom: “Well.. we are going to ground you and take away your phone and your computer! You cannot leave the house and are only allowed to do your homework.
Lucy: I’m not doing homework!!! Homework is PRODIGAL. And you can’t take my phone away, I’ll die without it! i won’t give it up!
Dad: “You are a very bad girl. I don’t know what to do about you.”
Lucy: Really? Cool. I can get whatever I want. (Hehehehe laughing the evil laugh.. thinking of a bad-girl-trouble-making plan. Going to get away with it.. She knows that they can’t do anything about it.)
Dad: “No! I will remain RETICENT no more. I am tired of you trying to win your AUTONOMY. You will abide by my rules like a good, SERVILE girl and this ANARCHY will end now! We need to AMELIORATE the way this house works. Starting right now, all of your punishments are AUGMENTED! Your FLAGRANT acts will be punished, beginning with your loss of video games and toothbrushes! The rules in this household are now going to be more AUSTERE than your PROSAIC and BANAL mind will ever comprehend.”

Lucy: “I don’t care.. I don’t care... (it is a song she sings over and over again quietly to herself.)

Am. Lit.

Vocab. Skit for American Lit.:

*draw picture of city buildings on white board* and STREET MUSIC FIELD SHOW as background music!

Claire-Bear as Narrator: (At 11:30 pm that night, on a dark street in front of the bank, the criminal was running and stealing as much money as she could. The cops were on their way to the street. They saw her running as she disappeared behind a building. The cops left the car and went chasing after her. She failed to jump over the fence and the cops caught her. The policemen escort her to the car.)

[Don’t say out loud...just write on board and don’t write/say “aka” part!]
Criminal- (aka Claire-Bear)
Police #1- (aka Codename Z)
Police #2- (aka Police Rae)
Judge- (aka Judge Cat)

(at the police car)
Claire-Bear: “It was the other guy! I swear!”
Codename Z: “The other guy’s legs were ATROPHIED, because he has been in a wheelchair for years!”
Police Rae: “Yeah, so he couldn’t have even gotten up those stairs to get into the bank, let alone commit a crime.”
[Claire-Bear is silent and looks down.]
Codename Z: “Come on, speak up, don’t be RETICENT, we need to know what you’re saying.”

Claire-Bear: “I swear I’m innocent! It is an ENIGMA to me that you would think otherwise! This matter shouldn’t be even remotely AMBIGUOUS! This is ANARCHY! The system must seriously be AMELIORATED! You are all just mindless and SERVILE, bending to human nature! All you people care about is AUGMENTING your wealth and power! You disregard the BANAL public and only lose your APATHY when it concerns people of wealth and status!”
Police Rae: “How could you say that?”
Claire-Bear: “It was just an INNOCUOUS crime.” [acting very nervous and is very scared]
Police Rae
: “But, you robbed a bank, you call that harmless? What about all those people you nearly scared to death?”
Claire-Bear: “Who cares about those clowns anyway?”
Codename Z: “Well, their families for one certainly wouldn’t EXTOL you for your efforts.”
Claire-Bear: “Well okay blame me but I didn’t do anything wrong here.”

[going to the court house]
[in court room. The judge is getting ready to begin.]

Judge Cat: “What did you do to get yourself here?”
Claire-Bear: “I didn’t do any thing really bad.” [Uncertainly]
Police Rae: “You are such a bad liar! I made it just in time to catch you with the money.”
Judge Cat: “You are not being very CANDID with us are you?”
Claire-Bear: “What are you talking about? How can you say that when you weren’t there? Haha, you didn’t see me, so you don’t know nothin’.”
Police Rae: “I was there and I saw you running away from us!”
Codename Z: “I did too.”
[Claire-Bear doesn’t know what to say to that.]
Judge Cat: “Your stories are very INNOVATIVE, but they are just stories. I’m looking at your record and I see plain as day that this wouldn’t be the first criminal act you’ve committed.”
Claire-Bear: “I don’t have a dirty record, you must be looking at the wrong record! I’m a BANAL, average person. Not a criminal.”
Police Rae: “Yeah, right. I don’t believe you. We’ve got the evidence right here.”
Judge Cat: “You are going to live an ASCETIC life in a dark, cold cell for a few years. End of story.” [KA-BAM!]
Claire-Bear: [LEAVES CRYING] :D
Police Rae: Word.
Codename Z: SWAG.

The End! :D

Three of My Pets Essay (Assignment)

Rachel Danielson
7/22/11
Three of My [Very Interesting] Pets Essay

As of today, I have four cats and two dogs. They all have different personalities. Dusky, Krismi, and Cookie are the ones that I will mention in this essay. All of them have unique and interesting personalities, habits and physical traits.
Dusky is a gray and white cat with large glowing yellow eyes, long white whiskers, and a very loud and persistent voice. If he sees that we are outside, he sometimes rushes over to be petted. When Dusky eats his cat food, he swallows it down, barely chewing. He goes around meowing whenever he sees that someone is in the living room, hoping that someone will let him in or give him a snack. During the day, Dusky likes to go off and take a nap, or play with the other cats. His most well-known attribute is his strident meow.
Krismi is a ten year old orange tabby cat. He is one of the cats that we have had the longest. He loves to lay outside in the sun or take naps in hidden, shady spots. He is an outgoing cat and whenever I call him, he always comes, if he’s within hearing range. Krismi is an overall friendly cat; he doesn’t bully the other cats, steal food, or shy away from human attention. He is a great companion when you need someone to relax with. That would be the trait that I love about him the most
Cookie is a friendly, cute, ten-year old dog that is a mix of German shepherd and border collie. He has a long golden coat and a long mouth and nose. When he’s panting it looks like he’s smiling. Cookie eats almost anything except vegetables. He loves the beach but hates hoses or sprinklers or stepping in puddles. Cookie also loves going for daily walks around the neighborhood or hiking. Although, he’s old he still gets his daily dose of exercise. In addition to sleeping in the garage, he likes sleeping inside. The best thing about Cookie is that he is predictable and always has a “schedule” that he likes to keep. He eats, sleeps, and walks. He is a simple, good dog.
My pets are all special and unique, especially Dusky, Krismi and Cookie. They each love to do similar things, but have their own individual personalities that make them stand out.
